Nickolas Boutris, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with subspecialty certification in orthopedic sports medicine. He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of sports-related injuries and musculoskeletal conditions, providing both surgical and nonsurgical care for athletes and active individuals. Dr. Boutris is known for his thoughtful, individualized approach and his focus on restoring function, mobility, and long-term joint health.
Dr. Boutris practices with Fondren Orthopedic Group and serves as an attending physician and faculty member in Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine at Houston Methodist Willowbrook Hospital. He treats patients at multiple locations throughout Cypress, Tomball, and Houston and is actively involved in training future sports medicine physicians through the Houston Methodist Willowbrook Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship.
He completed a fellowship in Orthopedic Sports Medicine at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York, where he refined advanced arthroscopic and sports injury techniques. Dr. Boutris completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Houston Methodist Hospital, where he was selected by faculty to serve as Chief Resident. He earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch and graduated magna cum laude from Baylor University.
Dr. Boutris has extensive experience caring for athletes at every level, including professional, collegiate, and high school sports. His team coverage includes the NFL Combine, New York Jets, New York Islanders, NCAA hockey programs, professional golf events, and numerous Texas high school athletic programs. Actively involved in orthopedic research and professional leadership, Dr. Boutris remains committed to delivering evidence-based, patient-centered orthopedic care.
